About Me

My name is Hannah, I hold a Bachelors in Psychology (Honors) from the South African College of Applied Psychology. I have experience in counselling, for a diverse background of clients – different age groups, genders, cultures and religions. I bring an approach of empathy to anyone who has made the brave step to reach out counselling services. I have experience in the following areas:

Stress and anxiety • Low self-esteem • Food, and Body image • Emotional regulation • Struggling with adjustment to change • Trauma • Loss • Relationships and communication skills • Unhealthy coping mechanisms affecting one’s quality of life • Exploring Identity and Sexuality

I work from an integrative approach, primarily combining Person-Centred Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The person-centred approach emphasises empathy, equality, and unconditional positive regard, while supporting clients to take an active role in developing insight, self-understanding, and personal growth. As your counsellor, I offer a supportive and non-judgemental space where I listen carefully, walk alongside you, and work collaboratively to explore tools that may best support you.

CBT focuses on identifying negative or unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to emotional distress and behavioural difficulties. Together, we work to gently challenge these thoughts and explore alternative ways of coping, with the aim of developing healthier and more adaptive patterns of thinking and behaviour.

When working with couples, I integrate different therapeutic approaches based on the couple’s unique needs and presenting concerns. I aim to ensure that each individual feels heard and validated, while supporting the couple to gain clarity and perspective on their challenges and identify a constructive way forward.
